In a dramatic twist, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has withdrawn a corruption case worth Rs16 billion against former Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman Syed Muhammad Shabbar Zaidi—barely 24 hours after registering it. According to an FIA notification issued by its Karachi Zone, the agency has officially cancelled FIR No. 32/2025 dated October 29, 2025 , reclassifying it as a “C-Class” case and submitting a discharge report in Zaidi’s favour. The Punjab School Education Department has announced a change in working hours for teachers as winter approaches. The new schedule will come into effect from Monday, October 27, 2025 , and will remain in place until April 15, 2026 . According to the official notification, teachers in single-shift schools will now work from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM between Monday and Thursday , while Friday hours will be shorter — from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM . For double-shift schools , the morning shift teachers will follow the same timings: 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM (Monday to Thursday) and 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday. KARACHI: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has declared the results for the SSC Part-I (Class 9) Science and General Groups for 2025, announcing them on Wednesday. According to the board, a total of 196,714 students were registered for the exams, while 167,279 actually appeared . Out of these, 127,586 students passed , bringing the overall success rate to 76.3% . In the Science Group , 151,149 candidates took the exams, achieving a strong 78.26% pass rate . The General Group , however, recorded a lower performance — only 8,588 out of 14,984 students passed , marking a 54.38% pass percentage . For private students , the results were even more modest. Among 1,146 private candidates in the General Group, only 623 cleared their exams , giving a pass rate of 48.26% .
