The Punjab School Education Department has announced a change in working hours for teachers as winter approaches. The new schedule will come into effect from Monday, October 27, 2025, and will remain in place until April 15, 2026.
According to the official notification, teachers in single-shift schools will now work from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM between Monday and Thursday, while Friday hours will be shorter — from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
For double-shift schools, the morning shift teachers will follow the same timings:
8:30 AM to 2:00 PM (Monday to Thursday) and 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday.
Meanwhile, afternoon or evening shift teachers will work from 12:45 PM to 4:00 PM (Monday to Thursday) and 1:45 PM to 4:00 PM on Fridays.
In addition to their weekday schedules, teachers will also be required to attend school on alternate Saturdays between 9:00 AM and 12:00 Noon. These sessions will be dedicated to administrative duties, training, and academic planning.
