In a bold move along the Pak-Afghan border, Pakistan carried out precision strikes on verified camps of the Kharji Gul Bahadur group in North and South Waziristan.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, revealed on his X account that during a 48-hour ceasefire, militants from Afghanistan tried to launch multiple terrorist attacks inside Pakistan. However, Pakistan’s security forces successfully countered them, reportedly sending over 100 Kharjis “to hell.”
The Gul Bahadur group also carried out a vehicle-borne IED attack in North Waziristan, killing civilians and a soldier while injuring several others.
Following confirmed intelligence reports, last night’s strikes targeted key figures of the group, eliminating at least 60 to 70 militants, including their leadership.
Tarar dismissed all claims suggesting civilians were targeted, calling them false narratives aimed at generating support for terrorist groups operating from Afghan soil.
He stressed that Pakistan is committed to resolving the issue of Indian-sponsored terrorism from Afghanistan through dialogue and Afghan control over non-state actors. Yet, he made it clear that Pakistan will not compromise on protecting its people or territorial integrity and will continue taking decisive action against terrorists operating from across the border.
