Field Marshal Asim Munir Meets Jordan’s King Abdullah II — Big Push for Stronger Defence Ties

 


Amman, October 27, 2025 — Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, met King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan during his official visit to the Kingdom on Monday.

Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II was also present at the meeting. Both leaders discussed a wide range of issues, focusing on boosting bilateral cooperation in defence and security and sharing views on the latest regional developments.

During the meeting, Field Marshal Asim Munir conveyed warm greetings from the people, Government, and Armed Forces of Pakistan to the King. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to deepening its brotherly relations with Jordan.

King Abdullah II praised the professionalism and contributions of the Pakistan Armed Forces in promoting regional peace and stability. He also expressed a desire to further strengthen defence collaboration between the two nations.

Earlier, Field Marshal Asim Munir held a separate meeting with Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordan Armed Forces, in Amman.

The Field Marshal was given a warm welcome and a Guard of Honour upon his arrival at the Jordanian General Headquarters.

During their talks, both sides highlighted the deep-rooted and historic ties between the armed forces of Pakistan and Jordan. Major General Al-Huneiti lauded the remarkable role of Pakistan’s Armed Forces in ensuring peace and security in the region.
