Devil May Cry Season 2 Just Dropped Its First Trailer — Fans Are Losing It!

Netflix has just given fans a taste of what’s coming next in the Devil May Cry universe. The official anime YouTube channel released a "First Look" trailer for Season 2 of the animated series, confirming that the new season will premiere in 2026.

The first season, which streamed worldwide on Netflix in April 2025, was a massive hit. With eight episodes, it skyrocketed to #4 on Netflix’s global top 10, racking up 5.3 million views in just three days. In total, it reached the top 10 in 87 countries. Clearly, Dante’s demon-hunting adventures have captured the world’s attention.

For those who need a refresher, Devil May Cry originally launched as a video game on PlayStation 2 back in 2001, created by legendary game director Hideki Kamiya (famous for Okami and Bayonetta). The franchise even got its first anime adaptation from Madhouse in 2007.

Netflix describes the animated series like this:

"In this animated adaptation of the popular Capcom game and from the vision of Adi Shankar, sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck."

With Season 2 on the horizon, fans are eagerly awaiting more demon-slaying action, intense battles, and Dante doing what he does best — kicking serious demon butt.
